Bradford County Water Works (BCWW), Thornton Pressure Filters was built in 1926 to serve the villages of Denholm and Thornton.
From the sketchy information I can find, it closed in about 1975-1978 and has just been left to rot there.
Unfortunately, when you search the internet for 'pressure filter' or even 'water pressure filter' all you seam to get are the water filters for your fridge or the ones to strip the paint off your car - so I do not understand how they worked or anything.
